When you spend a lot of time on trains...

This was one of the first shots I took with my new DMC-MC1 and I was very happy with the photo.

I try to be as descreet as possible with these shots, the camera sits on my lap and I snap off a shot. It only works some of the time, but if you get the occassional shot where the subject is off guard and the light is kind then can capture a little moment worth keeping.

And speaking of Terry

From the same shoot for the Aussie Pavilion. This was at Mt.Bulla in Victoria. That's Terry Hope down in the frame there, he's a real photographer!

Can yhou believe that people tried to talk us out of going up to take these shots? "Too much snow"? I don't think so!

The first of many

While I wait for my terminally delayed flight to LA I thought I'd start to post a few shots from my album.

Most of these are shots that I take as I'm working, either directing a video or a program or travelling for a job. Some will be family shots and other things that I think are neat.

This was shot at Devils Marbles in NT, Australia while Terry and I where shooting for the main show at the Aussie Pavilion at World Expo 2005. It was captured on film (remember that stuff) on a Hasslebald XPAN. The light was simply amazing, and if you zoom into the tree the sublte colours of the landscape become clear.

This is an amazing country, everytime I go into the desert I can't help but recall the line from Lawence of Arabia... I think I am just another desert loving English... well, desert loving bloke at the very least.

Off to LA

It's been more than 10 years, not to mention a fair amount of road traveled, since my last Comic Con but here I am waiting for my flight. I've had a few questions as why I'm going back; the answer is pretty simple, there are some comics that I want to look at getting the rights to for developing and I'm also looking for a team to help with an on-line comic book idea based on a script that I wrote last year. This is part of an ongoing notion to start developing properties that can generate interest in my film ideas.

Also, at heart I'm a storyteller and I feel the need to get my yarns out there.

I'll be blogging from the con over the next few days as well from LA - so stay stuned!
